HEAD, MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (MIS)

Job Objective/Summary:

The Head of Management Information System (MIS) is responsible for overseeing the bank’s data management, reporting systems, and IT-driven decision-making tools. This role ensures the availability, accuracy, security, and efficiency of data systems to support strategic and operational decision-making across the bank.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the bank’s MIS strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of business and financial data.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used for decision-making and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage dashboards, business intelligence tools, and automated reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with various departments to provide timely and actionable insights to enhance performance.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and IT security policies.
  • Lead the MIS team, ensuring skill development and capacity-building in data analytics and reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in MIS, data management, business intelligence, or IT roles within the financial sector.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) or the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) is an advantage.
  • Certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or database management (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, AWS, ITIL, COBIT) are preferred.
  • Strong expertise in database management, data analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements in the financial sector.
