Job Summary

A leading Microfinance Bank in Maryland, Lagos is seeking an experienced and strategic professional to fill the role of Head of Department, Business Process Management (BPM).

The successful candidate will lead the Bank’s process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong background in process reengineering, technology implementation, and performance management within a regulated financial services environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process Analysis & Improvement
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate existing business processes to uncover inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement process reengineering, automation, and optimization strategies.
  • Define, measure, and track process performance metrics to ensure operational excellence.

 BPM Framework & Governance

  • Establish and maintain a robust BPM framework aligned with industry best practices.
  • Develop tools, templates, standards, and documentation for consistent process management.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on BPM principles and methodologies.

 Technology & Automation

  • Evaluate and recommend BPM technologies and automation tools.
  • Oversee the implementation, integration, and optimization of BPM systems.
  • Ensure effective utilization of technology to drive productivity and efficiency.

 Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage the BPM team, providing mentorship and professional development.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative work environment.
  • Recruit and train qualified BPM professionals where necessary.

 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate BPM strategies and initiatives effectively across departments.
  • Resolve process-related issues and ensure alignment with business objectives.

 Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the Bank.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging BPM practices.
  • Drive innovation initiatives to enhance organizational performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Process Management with proven success in delivering process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of BPM methodologies and tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and BPM software solutions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
