BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Job Objective:

The Business Development Officer will assist with the development and execution of appropriate marketing and business development strategies to support the achievement of sustainable profitability and market growth. He/ She will deliver low-valued and premium Microinsurance products that can add value to different market strata and provide relevant marketing and client insights to ease and facilitate the successful creation and execution of clients’ market expansion objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Sales and Business Development throughout the assigned Region.
  • Attend Partner Agents’ customer meetings to educate our customers on the product process and handle customers’ complaints by generating necessary feedback.
  • Develop a relationship to create an opportunity to cross-sell other company products on an existing partner platform.
  • Develop business opportunities through Clusters, Cooperatives, Trade and Market Associations, Unions, Aggregators, Community associations, etc.
  • Handles sales activities, including relationship building, initial meetings/demonstrations, presentations, and closing business.
  • Provides information to the company with regards to industry trends, reasons for wins and losses, state of the competitive marketplace, and product development needs.
  • Develop New Initiatives to Drive Business Growth.
  • Support the implementation of the marketing and sales strategies of the company.
  • Any other roles that may be assigned by the Development Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or HND from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in Direct sales/marketing of Insurance Products.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the insurance field. Direct experience in Microinsurance is a plus.
  • Track record of successfully managing Microinsurance projects, strategic alliances and partnerships, and consultants/cross-functional teams.
  • Success in an entrepreneurial environment where limited resources are leveraged to produce maximum results.
  • Success working with organizational leadership, using their time and resources selectively.
  • Ability to Communicate in English, Pidgin English, and other Nigerian dialects is a plus.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
