Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant to join our team in a reputable investment company based in Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing in-depth financial analysis, financial reporting, financial modelling, and supporting the management and monitoring of investment portfolios to drive strategic business decisions across the organization and its subsidiaries.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and play a key role in ensuring sound financial management, effective portfolio performance monitoring, operational efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards and investment policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and management accounts.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business and investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and business planning.
- Assist in the management, monitoring, and reporting of investment portfolios to ensure alignment with organizational investment objectives and risk appetite.
- Analyze portfolio performance and provide recommendations for portfolio optimization and improved returns.
- Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance of the organization and subsidiaries.
- Support investment evaluation, profitability analysis, and risk assessment processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and maintain proper accounting records.
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and other relevant stakeholders when required.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in any of the following areas is required: Accounting, Financial Analysis, Financial Modelling, Investment Management, or Portfolio Management.
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a similar organization, preferably in an investment company.
- Proven experience in a mid-management accounting, finance, or investment management role.
- Demonstrable experience in managing, monitoring, and reporting on investment portfolios.
- Strong understanding of investment products, portfolio performance measurement, and investment risk assessment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and use of accounting/financial software tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
